While Surfpoint’s history began with kitesurfing, it’s evolved over the decades to a love affair with everything water and wind! Wingfoiling is our latest obsession, and one we can’t wait to share with you. Our crew have been putting in the work to master winging and foiling since the first prototypes hit the water, and are ready to teach you everything there is to know!

What does it take to learn to wingfoil?
From fresh beginner to fully independent rider.
While wingfoiling is often presented as an evolution to kiteboarding, at Surfpoint we think anyone with the desire to learn and the ability to swim can become a competent winger in no time! Learning to wingfoil is straightforward, and very safe.
First, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about handling the wing—on land. This will give you a great, confident base to take it to the water. We’ll also run through safety, what to do in all situations you might encounter, and what all the parts are called.
Once you’re confident, ready and eager to hit the water, we’ll jump in with you! Our instructors will help you get the equipment to the water's edge, into the water and through the breakers. They’ll be right there with you as you get up onto the board, grab the wing and take off!
How long until I’m wing foiling by myself?
What course should I take?
Learning to wingfoil is straightforward and accessible to everyone, but we all learn at different speeds. We’ve developed packages that suit most people, where you can decide in advance how far you’d like to go. If you want just a taste, you’re welcome to come and try! If you’re committed to learning to wingfoil like a pro, we’ve got you covered.
Of course, these timelines are guidelines. They’re very good guidelines based on hundreds of students, but you might learn faster, or slower. That’s totally OK. Our instructors tailor your learning to suit you, and will make sure you’re having a good time throughout the process. Our mission is to get you up on the water and winging independently as fast and as safe as possible.

Mui Ne is one of Vietnam’s premier wingfoiling destinations thanks to super consistent wind, great weather and unbeatable off-water activities. If you decide to learn or progress your winging and foiling with us, days are as relaxed or as focused as you’d like them to be. You can spend all day at the beach with us, doing as much training as the wind and your energy levels permit, or drop in for a single session in between other activities—we’ll tailor your learning plan to suit you.
Some people like to come down early, right after breakfast, and spend all day at the beach learning, watching and hanging out at our comfortable beach club. Other people like to book a lesson, turn up 15 minutes before to prepare and then leave to explore Mui Ne’s myriad attractions after they’re finished. It’s totally up to you!

What's included in the courses?All courses include an IKO qualified instructor, high-quality kite equipment, equipment insurance, safety gear, refreshments, IKO certification card and registration and beach boy assistance.

What months are best for kiting?Mui Ne’s kite season runs from November to April, with the peak months being December to February. During this time, the steady northeast winds (15–25 knots) and sunny weather make it a world-class destination for kiteboarding and windsurfing enthusiasts.

Can I rent gear without lessons as a beginner?No, as a beginner, you cannot rent kiteboarding gear without taking lessons. Safety is crucial, and kiteboarding requires proper training to handle the equipment and conditions. All IKO schools require beginners to take lessons to ensure a safe experience for everyone.
